After 30 years of selling real estate, I am fortunate to say that I still love my job! I get to meet new people of all ages every week, I have new experiences every day, I get to hear the greatest stories of life experiences of others. Best of all, I get to help people make important decisions about their futures- I don’t take this role lightly.

My specialty is working with working the retired population. My exposure to the retired population began when I was 10 years old. My parents built a retirement community on Lake Andrusia in northern MN for snow birds that wanted to spend their summers “up north” at the lake. During the journey in building my real estate career, I specialized in selling custom built homes, which eventually brought me to where I am today, representing a developer/builder that has dedicated his career to building alternate lifestyle communities for seniors- the perfect mix for me with my love for new construction and the retired population. We have now worked together for over 23 years!

My experience has been that the term “senior living” has evolved into “low maintenance living”. I have found it is not just the retired population looking for an easier lifestyle, but empty nesters are also making the move sooner, even though retirement may not be on the horizon. The large home and yard was the focus for many years, but I am seeing a condensed and relaxed lifestyle becoming the trend. I can relate to this trend, as I did this 10 years ago, and couldn’t be happier.

Making a move of any kind, at any age is difficult and the thought of downsizing is overwhelming. I have helped hundreds of people accomplish this goal and in some cases, it takes many months to go through all the steps to get there. There have been times that I recommend not selling for various reasons. I am not a salesperson, I am a consultant.
